Aching Arms

Aching Arms is a Charity providing support and comfort to families experiencing the grief of pregnancy and baby loss. This is achieved by raising awareness of the impact of this terrible situation and providing friendship and support. Significantly, the Charity provides an Aching Arms Bear to bring some comfort to bereaved parents.
The core aims of the project were to re-design and build a website which would raise awareness and national support to help parents in this awful situation, in a compelling yet sensitive manner.
In particular we were tasked with making it easy for visitors to make donations, engage in fundraising activity or purchase Aching Arms merchandise.
What we did
- New, updated design.
- Cohesive architecture and clear signposting to ensure ease of visitor journey, focussing on:
- Making it easy for visitors to make donations or purchase merchandise.
- Encouraging and promoting fundraising and volunteering.
- Clearly defining sections and signposts.
- Providing a safe and welcoming environment for newly bereaved parents.
- Bespoke ecommerce functionality with full integration to payment gateway.
- Full stock management and sales reports.
- Full Content Management System.
Sarah and her team at Fisher Simons brought to fruition our charity’s long held dream of a new website. They took time to truly understand our charity and what was needed to make it a safe, informative and easy space for newly bereaved parents to navigate.
The trustees, staff and our supporters simply love what Sarah has created. We couldn’t have chosen a more difficult time to do this work, through a pandemic, but no obstacle was too big for the design team. It was a truly collaborate piece of work, created with compassion, understanding and utterly expert and trustworthy advice.
